Line & Shape Widgets

Horizontal Line

These widgets will easily create horizontal and vertical lines in various styles and over 60 shapes using HTML entities rather than images.

Drag the widget onto the page

Select the line height and color

Select the line style from solid, dotted, dashed and double

Use the grab handles or the Metrics inspector to set the line length

Drag the widget boundary line vertically to suit the line height

Drag the widget boundary line horizontally to suit the line width


NOTE: Thin lines can be difficult to select. Hold down the mouse and drag across them.

HTML Shapes

Drag the widget onto the page

Select the shape

Choose the size which is in pixels

Choose a suitable color

The widget outline can be reduced in size to as small as is required to drag the widget to its position on the page.

Although Macs have a large number of shapes available via the character viewer, these can't be used on websites for obvious reasons.

HTML has entities which can be used instead for items such as directional arrows, geometrical shapes, check marks and so on.

These would normally be inserted in a paragraph using code entry.

This widget allows these shapes to be used in place of images in many situations.

NOTE: Since these special characters are actually "text", they can be created as internal or external Hyperlinks using the EverWeb Link inspector.
