MP3 Button Player

This a widget to create a button audio player. Click the icon to the right to get it...

The player preload has been set to "none" so that the audio file doesn't download with the rest of the web page content. This is very important if you have more than one player on any page.

The player uses a custom stylesheet and a sprite for the play/stop button to increase efficiency.

The volume control has its initial level set to 50% to protect the visitor's ears.

Like the other two widgets for creating players to implement a single audio file on a web page, the button player use the same mediaelement javascript as the EverWeb default player. At risk of stating the obvious, only one type of audio player should be used on any page. DO NOT mix and match them!

These buttons can be set in groups with text boxes for track title and artist name like this...

Track [1] by Artist [A]

Track [2] by Artist [B]

Track [3] by Artist [C]

Track [4] by Artist [D]

Setup

Before you drag any MP3 audio files into the Assets section of EverWeb, check the file names and remove any spaces and/or special characters. Replace spaces with a hyphen to make the track titles easier to identify.

Drag the widget onto the page and click the "Choose" button to select an MP3 file

For more players, duplicate the first and choose a different MP3 file.

These button players are set to stop when another player on the same page is started so they can be set in groups with text boxes for track title and artist name to act like a playlist player...

Customize

Bunches of players can be grouped by using a background shape...

Track [1] by Artist [A]

Track [2] by Artist [B]

Track [3] by Artist [C]

Track [4] by Artist [D]

NOTE: Flash fallback will not work locally on your Mac. The files need to be uploaded to the server due to the flash plugin security settings.

The visitor needs to have the flash plugin installed in their browser for the flash player to work! This may seem obvious but it is increasingly common for the flash plugin to be removed or disabled to conserve power.
